Reviews
Disapointed. They had a big party with live music in the backyard until 23:30 in the evening without telling us at booking in the reception. Impossible to sleep, and the next morning they just said "official time is 23, you should have known". The room is nice. Poorly working AirCondition unit, it was hot during the night.
.Nice rooms, no elevator to top floors. as a vegan they tried to serve specific dishes, but the variety wasn't very big. While everyone got their main non-vegan dish I got a plate of grilled vegetables which were not fully cooked
We didnt stay at the hotel but we stopped by to get food, we are albanians ourselves and when we ate here it felt like home. The food was amazing and it really was true traditional food with very much flavour. The service was also so good, the staff was nice and they were dressed traditionally to really get the vibe. The resturaunt itself was so pretty and gave a real traditional vibe. I would totally recomend anyone who stops by shkoder.
I visited the restaurant at Hotel Clarita and the first thing you notice is how beautiful the place looks from the outside. It feels very traditional, like an old Albanian house, and you can tell the building has a lot of history behind it. If you arrive without a reservation and clearly look like a tourist, the welcome can feel a bit cold at the beginning. Also, communication can be a little difficult since many of the staff speak very limited English, so it helps if you already have an idea of what you want to order before arriving. Another thing to keep in mind is that, like in many places outside the capital in Albania, you can only pay in cash. That said, once you sit down and enjoy the atmosphere, the experience improves a lot. I ate upstairs and the interior of the restaurant is very charming and authentic. The food was excellent. I ordered a selection of starters which included byrek with cheese, byrek with spinach and a few other traditional dishes. One of them was a grape leaf stuffed with rice, which was very interesting to try. After that I had a beef dish with tomato sauce and cheese that was incredibly good and full of flavour. For dessert I ordered a baklava, which was delicious, sweet and very satisfying. I also had a local wine from Shkodër. It was a young wine, a bit stronger than other Albanian wines I tried during my trip, but it paired very well with the food. Overall, the food here is truly excellent and very traditional.
This Albanian traditional restaurant was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The food was exceptional — every dish was full of authentic flavor, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. You can truly taste the tradition and quality in every bite. What made the experience even more special was the live Albanian traditional music. It created such a warm, joyful atmosphere and gave the restaurant an incredible vibe that made the night unforgettable. The restaurant itself is very beautiful, with elegant traditional decor that makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. On top of that, the service was outstanding — honestly the best service I have ever experienced. The staff was extremely professional, friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly valued as guests. I will definitely be coming back again, and I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants amazing food, great music, and a perfect traditional Albanian experience. A special thank you to our waiter, Kristian, who made our experience even better. He was always smiling, extremely friendly, and very attentive to us throughout the entire visit. His positive energy, professionalism, and kindness truly stood out and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Kristian is an absolute credit to the restaurant and hospitality at its best.
