A bit of a hike to get to (especially in 30° weather) but so worth it once you make it. Food is lovely and very cheap. I highly recommend the chicken and peppers (I forgot the traditional name I’m so sorry Mr. Albania). Staff were very also nice and gave us some free yummy cake and watermelon with our meal :)
Amazing lunch at this spot, definitely worth the walk up! The best traditional Albanian food we had and a really nice view. The owner also brought us fresh watermelon and little cakes for free and was very sweet.
Traditional Food Balcony View is a wonderful family-run restaurant that truly represents the taste and warmth of traditional Albanian home cooking. From the moment we arrived, we felt the care and hospitality that make family restaurants so special. All the food is homemade, prepared with love, and every dish was incredibly delicious. We ordered the chicken, byrek, a village salad, traditional meatballs, and the traditional Qifqi from Gjirokastër - and everything was absolutely amazing. Each dish had its own unique, authentic flavor, just like homemade food made with fresh ingredients and family recipes passed down through generations. The byrek was delicious, the chicken was tender and full of flavor, and the traditional dishes were a real highlight. You can truly taste the passion and attention behind every plate. What makes this place even more special is the magnificent view - the beautiful panorama from the balcony creates a magical atmosphere and makes the whole dining experience unforgettable. A beautiful place with a warm atmosphere, authentic food, and a wonderful family feeling. One of those restaurants where you leave with a happy heart and unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!
The food here is made with love by a wonderfully kind grandma. We were the only guests and had the terrace view perfection. The food is delicious and very filling! She gave us free incredibly soft home made sponge cake with syrup, apple slices with cinnamon and even a plate of cherries! You must stop here after your walk to the bridge... Or just come here anyway and say hi to Grandma and grandpa! Very homely and a nice view to treat yourself!
Great location to have lunch or dinner if you are returning from the Ali Pasha Bridge hike. Lovely older couple take very good care of you. Lots of typical traditional dishes: meatballs, stuffed peppers, xhaxiq (tzatziki style), and plenty more. The view from the balcony is great, you can see the entire valley and castle. Very tasty raki and cake too
