We went here to get something else than the normal “traditional local” food, and it was excellent. The food tasted very good, the service is great and it also has a very lovely view over the city. I could definitely recommend this restaurant. There is also a lovely cat hanging around, but it is not pushy :)
The best restaurant we visited in Albania — truly. If I could give more stars, I absolutely would. During our visit to Berat, we were craving Italian food and searched for recommendations online. That’s how we came across Restaurant Rezidenca Desaret, and we’re so glad we did. It really feels like a well-kept hidden gem, not only in Berat but in Albania as a whole. We were warmly welcomed by a very kind host, who told us we could choose any table we liked. We decided to sit outside, enjoying the beautiful view over Berat and the surrounding mountains. He even moved our table into the shade for extra comfort, and it was thoughtfully set with flowers — such a lovely detail. The menu is available in both Albanian and English, and there are so many appealing dishes that it’s hard to choose. We followed a recommendation from another reviewer and ordered the ravioli — and we completely understand why it was so highly praised. The ravioli was freshly made, soft, and light, with crispy pancetta and a creamy sauce that simply melted in your mouth. It’s the kind of dish you could easily order again, and again. We also tried the meatballs, which were freshly prepared and oven-baked with cheese. They were rich, flavourful, and served with bread — perfect for dipping into the sauce. For dessert, we chose the tiramisu and the brownie. Both were excellent. The tiramisu was light and well balanced, while the brownie was served warm with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream — gooey, soft, and full of flavour. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience. We truly enjoyed our lunch and would love to return again in the future. And if you ever decide to expand, please come to the Netherlands — we would definitely become regular customers!

Super nice staff. Even when it is busy, they have great service. The ravioli carbonara is amazing!! We loved eating and staying here. The room was very nice and the location is great. Breakfast gets served to your table, it is very fresh and delicious.
