Thank you for the masterclass in how to live off a past Tripadvisor badge, because the service certainly isn't doing the work. After traveling the entire Albanian coast, we had the privilege of experiencing the slowest, least attentive service of the trip. The food portions are so small you practically need a magnifying glass, yet the prices are premium—as seen in the attached photo of the 'grilled seafood' dish meant for two, well, dwarfs. To top it all off, a surprise 'service charge' was added to the bill, something we didn't see anywhere else in Albania. A truly impressive way to overcharge your guests.
the food here was genuinely delicious. during our stay we tried the chicken risotto, seafood risotto, moussaka, octopus, and sea bass. the sea bass was especially amazing and perfectly cooked. my mother loved every dish we ordered. the chicken risotto was very tasty, with a good portion size and fresh ingredients. the seafood and mushroom risotto was also enjoyable, although the shrimp were not fully cleaned, so we occasionally found small pieces of shell in the dish. the moussaka was excellent, and the homemade wine was very good as well. the atmosphere was pleasant, the service was fast, and we were welcomed with bread and appetizers at the beginning of the meal. the prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. however, one thing slightly affected our experience. a 20% service charge was automatically added to the bill, but we did not notice any information about this beforehand. in addition, three shots were brought to our table without us ordering them, so we assumed they were complimentary. later we found out that they had been added to the bill. It would be appreciated if guests were informed about this in advance. overall, the food absolutely deserves a high rating. everything was fresh and delicious. i would happily give 5 stars for the food itself, but because of the lack of transparency regarding the service charge and additional items on the bill, i am giving 4 stars. one more thing to keep in mind: parking can be very difficult in the evening. the restaurant does not have its own parking area, so it is better to arrive early
Read other Google reviews so wanted to come try it Wasn't disappointed food was fabulous staff were really friendly but took ages to get the bill out of them Prices for the meal was reasonable and it had a great atmosphere. Would recommend the octopus and would say avoid the squid it was a bit generic Sardines were lovey as was the baked cheese, never enough bread with the taziki
I had a simple pomodoro linguine and I did not identify other vegan options, but I have to say it was pretty good! I hope they consider some additional starters and/or sides, such as olives and stuffed eggplants (such as traditional dish in Albania). But atmosphere was great. My only photo there was of my empty plate, will have to go there again so as to show a proper before-after ;-) Ah, they gave me this delicious traditional liquor by the end!!
Incredible place, phenomenal seafood, seriously the best in Himarë. Erges is such a great server, and they made sure that everyone had the greatest dinner of our whole trip. Best food in all of Albania. We weren’t sure how great this would be, but in all seriousness, if you don’t eat here, you fully missed out. You have to get the seafood linguine or else. Also, the Housemade likor ?!? Wow.
