Description

Nestled close to the Albanian border, Podgorica offers the perfect opportunity to explore a slice of Albania on a short, 5-6 hour trip. The nearest significant city is Shkodra—one of the oldest cities in Albania. Since the borders have opened, Shkodra has become an increasingly popular destination, drawing visitors from around the world. Historically, this region was once part of old Montenegro, adding an intriguing layer of shared heritage. Crossing the border feels like stepping into another world—a fascinating blend of contrasts. On one side, modern houses and luxury cars; on the other, vehicles of curious shapes alongside bicycles, tractors, and even cows wandering the streets. Markets pop up seemingly anywhere, offering an eclectic mix of goods that might just surprise you. It’s a unique and unforgettable journey into the heart of a different Europe. We will have possibility to visit Rozafa castle. Rozafa Fortress is a majestic, historical stronghold perched on a hilltop just outside Shkodra. Offering breathtaking views of Lake Skadar, the Drin River, and the surrounding valleys, this fortress stands as a testament to Albania's rich past. Steeped in legend, the site is famously tied to the story of a woman named Rozafa, whose self-sacrifice ensured the fortress's stability—a tale symbolizing resilience and dedication. We will have possibility to visit town of Skoder, promenade street . With Albania we share Skadar lake which is completely different from Albanian side. Less dramatic , but still very beautiful. In one of resort we will have time for lunch if you like or for coffee. For those who would like to visit one more country and to enjoy in different culture, this is great opportunity with local tour guide.
