Depart from Saranda and make your first stop at Lake Viroi. Take in the picturesque spot, surrounded by lush nature and fed by the springs of Mali i Gjerë. Snap some photos and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Relax with a morning coffee by the lake before continuing your journey toward Labova e Kryqit village. Travel through the picturesque Drino Valley, a place of striking natural beauty and rich biodiversity, shaped over centuries by the Drino River and touched by many civilizations. Arrive at the village of Labova e Kryqit, home to the magnificent Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the Balkans. Originally built in the 13th century, its foundations date back to the time of Emperor Justinian I, making it a true Byzantine gem. After exploring the church, stroll through the village’s cobbled alleys and experience authentic rural life. After we will continue to Libohove District we will visit Ali Pasha Tepelena’s Castle, built as a wedding gift for his sister, Shahnisha. From its ancient walls, enjoy breathtaking views of the valley and Mount Bureto, known for its crystal-clear springs with curative properties. At the heart of the town, stand beneath a majestic 560-year-old Plane Tree, boasting a 7-meter diameter and a canopy spanning over 1,100 m². Beneath its shade, enjoy a traditional local lunch accompanied by fresh mountain spring water (other drinks available at extra cost). After lunch, return to Saranda via the Muzina Road, where mountains, valleys, and untouched landscapes offer stunning final views of this unforgettable day.
