Discover the beauty of Albania on an 8-day tour from Tirana. Explore the capital city and the towns of Shkoder, Valbone, and Theth. Enjoy a boat ride on the Koman Lake, go kayaking on the Shkodra Lake, and hike to the Blue Eye. Day 1: Airport – Tirana After your arrival at the airport, head to the capital city of Tirana. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Tirana. Day 2: Tirana – Lezhe – Shkoder After breakfast, head to the Vain Lagoon, the first protected area in the country since 1940. Take a 15-kilometer bike ride around the lagoon and look out for pelicans and flamingos. Continue to the Mrizi i Zanave, the most famous agrotourism restaurant in the country. After lunch, head to Shkodra, the largest city in northern Albania. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Shkodra. Day 3: Shkoder – Koman – Valbone After breakfast, head to Koman, a hydroelectric dam built in the Drini River, the longest river in the country. Enjoy views similar to the Norwegian fjords and disembark after a 2.5-hour boat ride in Fierza. Take a local bus to the Valbona Valley. Explore the National Park, characterized by its remote areas and vast, preserved ecosystem. Enjoy a short walk around the village. Stay overnight in a guesthouse in Valbona. Day 4: Valbone – Rama Shepherd's Hut – Valbone After breakfast, start a 6-hour hike to the Rama Shepherd's Hut. Admire the wild Valbona Valley and enjoy a picnic at 1900 meters above sea level. Meet a shepherd and his family. Continue to the Rossi Mountain (a 3-hour walk from the hut) for the more adventurous. In the afternoon, enjoy group activities, traditional Albanian dances, and games at the guesthouse. Stay overnight in the guesthouse. Day 5: Valbone - Theth After breakfast, meet the mule driver who will transport your luggage. Start a hike to Thethi, another tourist village. Reach the Valbona Pass at noon, the highest point of the day, to admire the incredible landscape of the two valleys. Descend through a UNESCO-listed beech forest. Arrive in Theth and stay overnight in a guesthouse. Day 6: Theth – Blue Eye – Theth After breakfast, visit the village center and the church. Start a 6-hour hike to the Blue Eye. Have a picnic by the water. In the afternoon, return to Theth by local vans or 4x4s. Stay overnight in Theth. Day 7: Theth – Shiroke – Tirana After breakfast, head to Shiroka, a fishing village on the shores of Lake Shkodra, the largest lake in the Balkans. Have lunch with a view of the lake. After lunch, go kayaking on the lake. Head to Tirana, the capital of Albania since 1920. Visit the new bazaar, Skanderbeg Square, the Bllok neighborhood, and the Paris commune.
