During the An Alternative Tour, you will be guided through Tirana’s hidden gems, capturing the city’s authentic energy with our creative guides. The experience begins with a warm welcome from a local creative guide, who introduces the tour and shares a brief overview of the day. You will then embark on a leisurely stroll through areas often overlooked by tourists, from charming side streets to forgotten landmarks that hold stories of Tirana’s past.
The creative guide will lead the group through vibrant neighborhoods, where we will have the chance to see local life—markets bustling with activity, colorful street art adorning walls, artisans at work, neighborhood hangouts, and the everyday scenes of Tirana’s residents. Along the way, we will provide insight into the city’s history, culture, and the people who make it so dynamic. The streets, with their mixture of old and new, tell the city's untold stories.
You will be encouraged to look at the familiar through a fresh lens, finding beauty in moments that are often overlooked—the texture of a weathered wall, the play of light on a busy street corner, or the quiet moments of individuals going about their daily lives.
As the tour continues, you will explore tucked-away spots like local artisan shops, artist workshops, local cafes and restaurants, art and galleries, and other hidden gems, where the authentic pulse of the city can be felt in the air. This will be a chance to capture the quieter side of urban life, where stories unfold in small gestures and moments of connection.
At the end of the tour, you will have a collection of photos showcasing the soul of Tirana through your own eyes. You’ll leave with not only a new appreciation for the city but also memories preserved in your photographs, each one telling a unique story.
