Description

Begin your day with pickup from your location in Durres or Golem, or from a nearby meeting point. Begin your scenic journey toward Berat. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of Albanian villages, rolling hills, farmland, and local towns, giving you a glimpse into everyday life in Albania before arriving at one of the country’s most beautiful and historic destinations. Once you arrive in Berat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, begin a guided tour inside the famous Berat Castle. During the tour, your guide will share stories not only about the castle itself, but also about Albania’s ancient history and traditions. Inside the castle, every stone carries history, every narrow street leads to hidden corners, and every old house feels like a window into another time. The guided tour inside the castle lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. After exploring the castle, continue down into the heart of Berat — famously known as “The City of 1001 Windows.” Here, you will have free time to explore at your own pace. You can wander through the historic neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica, walk along the river, discover local cafés and shops, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere that makes Berat feel unlike anywhere else. Once you finish exploring the city, continue your journey toward the village of Roshnik, where another unforgettable part of the experience begins. Here, you can choose to enjoy a traditional wine tasting and homemade food experience for an additional cost hosted by a local Albanian family who puts genuine love and passion into everything they prepare. Alongside tasting local wines and traditional dishes, you will also learn about one of Albania’s oldest traditions of celebration and hospitality: the “Dolli” — the Albanian toasting ritual that brings people together through laughter, stories, and shared moments. After the optional wine tasting and meal, say goodbye to the local family and begin your return journey. At the end of the day, you will be dropped off at your original pickup location.
