Description
Roshnik sits about 25 minutes outside of the city of Berat. A landscape of fertile, rolling hills bursting with olive groves and vineyards, this area is exactly what springs to mind when you hear the words “winemaking country”. You'll stop at the entrance of the village where you will be free to take the best pictures, after which you will move on to the Alpeta Winery. By 1995, this winery had started making small quantities of wine and raki made from the grapes that grew on their land. Whilst there you'll meet one of the family members who will help you understand more about wine making, as well as the family's history. You'll walk through the vineyards which provide great views of Tomorr Mountain and the surrounding village, before encountering a raki production site. There you will learn how this family is also famous for its raki production, which is a traditional Albanian drink. The winery predominates with whites, which is made by an indigenous grape called pules. You will be able to taste the famous pules as well as 2 red wines accompanied with different snacks and some raki. At the conclusion of your experience, you will return to Berat.Includes
