We had an amazing stay at Guest House Hasko. It felt like staying with your own family. The owners are amazing, sweet, helping out wherever they can and the best you can meet in your life. And the view....amazing! The rooms Perfect and authentic. We travelled with three young children. They had their own room, which was totally fine. Each had their own bed. The owner really helped to make it work by having us stay next to our children. Everything in the room is handmade by the grandma or by the husband. You see the craftmanship in every detail. The food Dont go downstairs for diner. Just stay here and let the chef of the family (grandma and the lady of the house) cook for you. The food is fresh and so good. Dont let me start about breakfast. You cant start your day in any other way than this. The bread is warm and the rest is fresh. Best breakfast I ever had! Even the children kept on eating. General The Guesthouse is on top of the mountain. Dont trust Google maps! You need to approach the Guest House from another direction (drive to the caste, Google Maps will show you the right way to get to the Guest House). If you follow Google Maps from the city centre, you never get there. From the Guest House its 7 minutes down to everything Gjirokaskar has to offer. The house has his own parkingspot and the husband is always ready to help you with your car. Dont hesitate to book this guest house. Do it. Especially with children. You will not regret it.
Best, without any joke, this place is the BEST guest house I have ever visited. It is very cheap, the owner is a very polite lady that cooked breakfasts so tasty that my mother asked her a few receipts. The view from the windows is majestic. The lady always smiles and serves coffee, tea, pitas, eggs and many other things. I really can't find any disadvantages
Great choice! The rooms are beautiful, decorated in an authentic style and very clean. The shower room is modern. The 2 of us stayed for 2 nights in a 3 bed room so the size was more than we needed. From the windows and the balcony we could see the old town, castle, mountains etc.. the breakfast was a lovely experience too! Leta makes fresh pastry every morning and it is delicious. Leta and her son Bugi are amazing hosts, kind and helpful. We felt very welcomed to be their guests 😊
Staying at Guest House Hasko was one of the most beautiful experiences we’ve ever had while traveling. From the very first moment, we felt like we were visiting our grandparents — surrounded by love, care, and genuine kindness. The hosts are truly wonderful people who go above and beyond to make you feel at home. They spoiled us in every possible way — with incredible homemade meals, from delicious breakfasts to hearty lunches and dinners, all filled with authentic Albanian flavors and made with so much love. The rooms were not only beautiful but also warm, cozy, and incredibly comfortable, and from our balcony we could admire the breathtaking view of the mountains surrounding Gjirokastër — a sight that made every morning and evening feel magical. Everything was just perfect, but what made it truly unforgettable were the hosts themselves — their smiles, their generosity, and the way they made us feel like family. We left with full hearts and can’t wait to return one day.
We had a lovely time at this little guesthouse. The family were lovely, and very accommodating. Breakfast was amazing and it was lovely to have the view out over the castle and mountains each morning. The guesthouse is very close to Ali Pasha bridge and is about a 15 minute walk down to the old town, the walk up will take you longer because of how steep and hilly Gjirokaster is! The only thing that could've been improved was the cleanliness of the bathroom in our room, the bedroom was perfect. They did offer for us to stay in a nicer room that became available after our first night, which looked like it had a slightly more modern bathroom. But ours was still lovely, and I would definitely recommend to others.
