Furra Restaurant & Rooms

Had a delicious dinner of local dishes at Furra in the Bazaar area. Situated in the main shopping section we arrived around sunset time and had a table down the side of the restaurant giving us a balance of experiencing the vibe of the shops but also a little quieter and more spacious. The service was prompt and friendly and we were checked in several times during the meal, something we had not experienced often during our Albanian travels so far. The dishes came out quite quickly - thank goodness as we were pretty hungry after walking up to the castle and exploring the grounds and bazaar during the afternoon! There were plenty of vegetarian options and it was difficult to choose a salad as all sounded amazing with varied ingredients. We enjoyed the qifqi rice balls and the stuffed vine leaves along with a fresh beetroot salad with citrus dressing and sesame seeds. The traditional meatballs were flavourful too. The hand cut fries dusted with herbs served alongside were a tasty addition - it was hard to restrain ourselves from ordering more but we wanted dessert! We chose two local desserts, the traditional Oshaf yogurt dessert and a slice of Tarte me kasji, a lovely biscuit based tart topped with apricot. Overall, the dining experience was relaxing and enjoyable. We never felt rushed at any stage.
One of the best dinners I’ve had in Albania. Justin and the rest of the staff were incredibly hospitable, kind, and helpful — the whole meal felt like being welcomed into someone’s home rather than just another restaurant visit. The spread of food was unbelievable, and we’re already looking forward to coming back next time we’re in Gjirokastër.
Highly recommended by a local, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The service was fantastic, and the food was incredible. We ordered a shared platter and the sarma, both of which were packed with flavor. The atmosphere is wonderful whether you sit inside or outside. We finished the evening with oshaf, which was the perfect, amazing end to a great night. Highly recommend!
Excellent food. We had quail with rice, wild greens, pashaqofte soup, and oshaf for dessert. Everything was delicious and prepared fresh. The atmosphere and service were also top notch. Aldo was super helpful and friendly. He made a great effort to ensure we had a good time. The restaurant is located in the old bazaar, making it ideal.
We visited this restaurant last night and had a really great experience. The place was quite busy, but despite that, the staff still found time to take care of us and make sure everything was perfect. The food was delicious—everything we tried was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. You can tell they really care about quality. A special shoutout to Puli, who gave us the best service. He was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If you go, definitely ask for him! Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and excellent service. We’ll definitely be coming back.
