Beautiful Space for 1 or 2 nights the riverside has a fantastic location and feels like a magical place but also it is quite expensive for the quality provided in the rooms. there is a bed and AC, nothing else. it would have helped to have a fridge or a shelve, even a chair or some more activities to do (more games, more options to spend free time) it is a calm place to relax but you should be aware that hiking around is not possible, the place is very isolated and can only be left by boat or kanu. nevertheless, the staff has been extremeley charming, the food of good quality and!!! they had amazing coffee. highly recommend!
One of the most beautiful places we stayed in Albania. The views over Komani Lake and the mountains are incredible, and waking up there felt so peaceful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. They explained all additional transport costs clearly after booking which we appreciated. Just note that you can’t drive directly to the hotel. You park at a recommended spot (€5 per day), take a car transfer to the port, then a boat to the property. The car & boat transfer was €25 per person and included the return trip plus a visit to Shala River. The only downside, in our opinion, was the limited food menu. We completely understand that this is a very remote location and expectations should be realistic but after a couple of days the lunch and dinner options started to feel repetitive. If you eat during the Shala River trip there are a few extra choices available though the menu remains fairly similar overall. Overall, highly recommended for the views, peace and unique experience. 1–2 nights would be ideal unless you really want to fully disconnect.
We had a LOVELY 2 night stay at Riverside. Mark and his crew were incredible. We wish we’d added an extra night to soak up the sun for another day. The floating docks were perfect to relax, and the self service drinks were a massive plus. Location cannot be beat - we had toyed with the idea of staying on the Shala River and after a (free!) afternoon trip there run by Riverside, we were so happy we chose Riverside instead. Just be aware that the water is chilly at the start of the season, but great for a cold plunge after laying in the sun. I’ll be recommending Riverside to anyone visiting Albania. Thanks Mark!
I had a great experience with this property. Mark and staff was very helpful and made the whole process smooth from start to finish. The place was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The location was unique and convenient, and communication with Mark was always prompt and clear. I would definitely recommend this property to others.
Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and fluent in English, making communication effortless. A special shoutout to Mark and Sando for their outstanding service; they truly went above and beyond. The rooms were spotless and secure, with very comfortable mattresses and blankets, hot showers with good water pressure. I had the best uninterrupted sleep over two nights. The location is peaceful, away from the tourist crowds, with breathtaking views that made it feel like a true escape into nature. Booking the full package (accommodation + boat trip) was simple and stress-free through them. This is the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area
