Description
Embark on a hike along the ancient Roman road, Via Egnatia, from Mirakë to Xhyrë. Built by the Romans between 149-120 B.C., this iconic route stretches from Istanbul to Durrës, passing through Librazhd. Discover traces of Via Egnatia in Mirakë, Babje, Dardhe, and Xhyrë, showcasing its significance in Roman history.
As you walk along this ancient road, pass through the upstream of the Shkumbin River, particularly in the mountainous areas of Librazhd. The terrain is moderate, with an elevation of 466 meters and a total length of 6 kilometers, taking approximately 3 hours to complete.
Cross the cobblestone Kamara Bridge, built in 1715, and visit the Babje-Spathar-Dardhe and have a swimm in the cold fresh waters of the Black Spring. End your hike in Xhyrë, a scenic spot with a unique charm.
