Description

Begin your day with a scenic hike above the turquoise waters of Bovilla Lake. Depart from your hotel in Tirana or Durrës and enjoy a scenic mountain drive to Lake Bovilla, hidden among the Dajti hills. A short hike (30–40 minutes) takes you to the famous Bovilla Viewpoint, offering spectacular panoramic views of the green lake and surrounding peaks. Enjoy free time for photos or a coffee with a view before continuing your journey. Next, drive through picturesque countryside towards Kruja, a charming town full of history and tradition. Visit the Kruja Castle, the Skanderbeg Museum, and optionally the Ethnographic Museum to learn more about Albanian culture and resistance. Walk through the Old Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in the Balkans, filled with carpets, woodcraft, and antique treasures. Enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch at a panoramic restaurant such as Panorama or Alba Castle. After lunch, continue the short but spectacular drive up to Mount Sari Salltik (about 20 minutes from Kruja). Located 1176 meters above sea level, this sacred Bektashi site is dedicated to Sari Salltik, a legendary dervish who spread tolerance and faith in Albania. Visit the Tekke (holy cave and shrine), enjoy the fresh mountain air, and admire one of the best panoramic and sunset views in central Albania, stretching from the Adriatic Sea to the plains of Tirana.
