Take a day trip from Tirana to Kruja and Durres. Visit the Kruja Fortress and the old bazaar. Explore the ancient city of Durres, founded in 627 BC. Depart from Tirana and arrive in Kruja in about 45 minutes. Visit the Kruja Fortress which also houses a museum dedicated to the national hero of the nation George Castrioti - Scanderbeg. Learn about the history of Albania and the resistance of Albanians to the Ottoman expansion in the 14th century. After the castle, visit the old bazaar near the castle. End the visit to Kruja with 30 minutes of free time in the old bazaar. Around 12:00 PM, leave for Durres, one of the oldest cities in Albania, founded in 627 BC. Visit the Byzantine wall, the Venetian tower, and the Roman amphitheater. Take a short break on the seafront and then leave for Tirana around 4:30 PM.
