Description
Kruja – The City of Skanderbeg
Our day begins with a scenic drive north from Tirana to Kruja, the birthplace of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg. Set dramatically on the mountain slopes, Kruja offers sweeping views over the Adriatic plains. We’ll explore its Medieval Castle, a key stronghold in the fight against the Ottomans, and visit the Skanderbeg Museum to learn about the legacy of Albania’s greatest leader. A walk through the charming Old Bazaar completes the visit, where traditional crafts and handmade carpets line the cobblestone streets.
Shkodra – The Cultural Heart of Northern Albania
We continue north to Shkodra, one of Albania’s oldest and most vibrant cities. Our first stop is Rozafa Castle, steeped in legend and offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding rivers. In the city center, the lively “Pedonale” street invites us to enjoy its colorful buildings, boutique shops, and cozy cafés. Shkodra stands as a symbol of Albania’s cultural richness and religious harmony, where churches and mosques coexist side by side.
Shiroka Village – By Lake Shkodra
Before returning to Tirana, we stop in Shiroka, a tranquil lakeside village known for its serene atmosphere and stunning lake views. Here, you can relax and enjoy a delicious lunch of freshly caught fish while soaking in the peaceful surroundings — the perfect ending to a memorable day.
